2011 FISH OFF RULES
1. Entries: The entry fee will be $30.00 (thirty dollars) per man per club fish-off. The club will retain 25% or no less than $25.00 0f the total pay out to pay for the cost Of trophies and prizes at the end of the year. The remainder of the entry will be broken down as followed.
First place – 50%
Second place – 25%
Big bass – $5.00 PER PERSON OR $10.00 PER BOAT OF ENTRYS.
The first place, second place, big bass and club will receive all cash awards at next club meeting. This will eliminate any problems with the IL Dept. of Natural Resources
(fish offs could be called tournaments).
2. Pairings: Fish-off committee will be responsible for all pairings of partners. Pairings will be made at club meeting prior to each fish-off. Each member is allowed one show per season without signing up at a meeting for points. Fish-off committee chairman will take call in entries up to 8:00 pm the night before the fish-off to be paired up. If their is a odd man out you will be paired up with him. If you do a show up at a lake with a single limit lower then the limit set for fish-off the show up has to go with single limit. If a paired up at meeting team member does not show up all teams have to go single limit. One pick your partner fish-off will be conducted each year.
3. Scoring: Scoring will be by boat. SIX (6) FISH PER BOAT WITH TWO (2) PEOPLE IF LOCAL FISHING LAWS APPLY. A two (2) man team will each receive equal points. A one (1) man team will receive his points. There will be no (ghost) partners.
If you participate in a fish-off but do not catch a kipper fish you will be awarded (10) Points for show up to fish.
Point System:
100 first 86 eight 72 fifteenth and so forth.
98 second 84 ninth 70 sixteenth
96 third 82 tenth 68 seventeenth
94 fourth 80 eleventh 66 eighteenth
92 fifth 78 twelfth 64 nineteenth
90 sixth 76 thirteenth 62 twentieth
88 seventh 74 fourteenth 60 twenty first

4. Penalties: Weigh in only your catch 0r partner’s catch.
One dead fish penalty – 16 oz
Two dead fish penalty – 32 oz
Three dead fish penalty – 48 oz
More than 3 dead fish disqualified and will receive 10 points.
5. General Rules: Harkins tournament rules shall apply. Fipping, pitching, casting and jigging are allowed. Eight-foot (8) maximum rod length. No trolling – no live bait- no culling of fish at ramp. Violation of rules or receiving a citation of ILDOC laws will be grounds for Disqualification.
6. Take–offs: Everyone will leave fish-off from the same ramp. Take-off will be by number only. Take-off numbers will be assigned at the time of pairing of partners. Committee members will conduct take-off.
7. Additional rules: Length limits as per lake rules. Tailoring is allowed. The use of locking through Smithland to fish the Ohio, Cumberland, and the Tennessee River will be allowed. Neither lake will be off limits when fish-off are scheduled for KY or Barkley Lake.
8. Awards: Special awards will be presented at the annual banquet in addition to trophies.
Bass Busters of the year - $500
Runner-Up- $200
Classic Winner-$200
Big Bass of the Year-$100
Special Awards: Pins will be awarded for bass caught (their weight VERIFIED) and released. Bass must be caught in the state of Illinois, including Smithland Pool or any club event or fish-off, but the fish has to be caught in public waters.
Copper – 7 pounds
Silver – 9 pounds
Brass – 8 pounds
Gold – 10 pounds
